Day Gecko Acrylic Painting

$50.00

These living jewels are a striking bright emerald-green, adorned with scattered red lines and spots that create a mesmerizing pattern. The vibrant neon colors most likely evolved not only to catch the attentive eyes of prospective mates but also to serve as signals to nearby rivals, establishing territory and dominance. When scientists first discovered this remarkable species, around the year 1870, they were puzzled by how such eye-popping hues could remain unnoticed by predators in the wild. As it turns out, the very same vivid colors that make the gecko stand out so clearly against a drab signpost or a plain wall actually help it blend seamlessly among the shimmering leaves and brightly colored flowers of their lush tropical habitat.

With the look of a smile on their face and the amazing color this lizard was so fun to paint. Personally I think these geckos might be some of the most beautiful lizards in the world but I might be a bit biased since I’ve been raising these lizards for years.

This original painting is done in acrylic on a 4” x 4” canvas and finished with black paint on the sides. This is a 2” deep canvas so it’s ready to hang on the wall, no frame needed. Signed and dated with information on the back.
